Synchronize Data from Excel to Google Sheets

The sample project featured in this article has preconfigured templates for transforming Excel files into XML files, ready to be sent to your Google Sheets account.

The ports are configured to automatically move files from one port to the next until the files are sent to Google Sheets.

The GoogleSpreadsheets port is preconfigured to operate automatically. The Excel port contains a simple template that transforms an example Orders file into XML. You can log into your Google Drive account to check for your new data.

In order to configure the example, please follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Ports tab and click the Import Settings button. In the dialog that appears, choose the file to import the project's settings and port configurations. If you have not already installed the Google Sheets port, the application will prompt you to install it.
  2. After you have imported the sample, start by selecting the GoogleSpreadsheets port and navigating to the Settings tab.
  3. To establish a connection to your Google Sheets account, click the Connect button. A new browser tab will be opened that will prompt you to log into a Google account. Log into your account, then allow RSSBus Connect to access your Google Sheets data. After giving the permission, the tab will close and the application is now connected to Google Sheets.
  4. To execute the sample, navigate to the Send tab of the Excel port. Select the OrderExample.xlsx file already included with the sample and click the Send button.
