In this entry you will learn to use the QuickBooks Port in Arc to connect to or disconnect from your QuickBooks Online account.
Date Entered: 1/19/2017 Last Updated: 1/19/2017
It is worth noting that the QuickBooks Port does not establish a true persistent connection, but instead performs the OAuth flow as defined by QuickBooks Online and securely stores the relevant credentials on your machine. Separate credentials will be encrypted and stored for each QuickBooks port and can be generated or removed using the steps described below.
Connect to QuickBooks Online
To connect the QuickBooks Port to your QuickBooks Online account, you can do the following:
- Open the Arc application.
- Navigate to an existing QuickBooks port from the PORTS page (or create a new QuickBooks Port).
- Click "Connect" and follow the instructions on the web page that opens.
Disconnect from QuickBooks Online
To disconnect the QuickBooks Port from your QuickBooks Online account, you can do the following:
- Open the Arc application.
- Navigate to an existing QuickBooks port from the PORTS page.
- Edit the existing connection.
- Click "Disconnect" and the relevant OAuth credentials will be removed, disabling the connection to QuickBooks Online.
